The University of Pittsburgh’s Global Partnerships professionals strategically and systematically offer support to expand upon existing partnerships, develop new partnership opportunities, and  help the University of Pittsburgh further establish itself as a leader in global education.  

With associates seated under the Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and International Programs at the Pitt Schools of the Health Sciences, this combined team works closely with colleagues across University of Pittsburgh schools and departments building bridges and making connections between Pitt schools and their partners on a global scale.  

Garrett Margliotti

Director for Global Partnerships and Partner Engagement

Garrett Margliotti is the inaugural director of global partnerships and partner engagement at the University of Pittsburgh’s University Center for International Studies. In the newly created role, Margliotti works with the Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs, and the Executive Director of Global Engagement, to create and implement a strategic plan for the University’s transformative partnerships around the world.

Margliotti helps to drive thought-leadership in evaluating existing relationships and building new partnerships. He plays a key role in managing international agreement requests, approvals, and assessment and developing and implementing the international partnerships incubator for the University.

Margliotti came to Pitt from Northeastern University, where he served the Global Experience Office as senior associate director of advising and programming. Prior to Northeastern he directed Carlow University’s Center of Global Learning.  Margliotti holds an MEd in higher education administration and a BA in French and history from Pitt. 

Laura Daversa

Assistant Director of Global Partnerships & Events

Laura Daversa is the inaugural assistant director of global partnerships and events at the University of Pittsburgh’s University Center for International Studies. Daversa holds a BA in Communications and Rhetoric and certificate in Public and Professional Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Daversa has over 15 years’ experience in the nonprofit sector as an event and project manager with a special interest in international organizations, cultural institutions, and global education.

Megan Hall

Program Manager for Academic and Global Affairs of the Health Sciences

Megan Hall, MPPM, is the Program Manager for Academic and Global Affairs of the Health Sciences. Under the umbrella of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences, she handles all international partnership agreements between the University of Pittsburgh Schools of Health Sciences (Medicine, Dental, Pharmacy, Nursing, Health and Rehab sciences and Public Health) and international institutions.  In addition, she works extensively on the administration of partnerships with Tsinghua University and Central South Xiangya University both in China, and Nazarbayev University School of Medicine in Kazakhstan.  Ms. Hall also serves as one of the points of contact for planning international delegation visits and international events in the health sciences.  Ms. Hall received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Duquesne University, and a Masters of Public Policy Management from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) at the University of Pittsburgh.
